Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve closing poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest players around the world. While betting on online poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has little or no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard of.
