Poker Aces – how to play them

Poker Aces references two aces dealt before theflop. It is the best attainable before theflop hand inhold’em Poker. But despite this many players end up on the losing end when given these cards.

When you are dealt a set of Aces, you just do not drop out pre-flop. You’re sitting with the greatest achievable hand at this part of the game. So how do you wager with Poker Aces ? Do you basically go all-in? I would say definitely no to that.

Keep in mind, you are trying to acquire as much money from this strong position. You need to maximize the opportunity. Going all-in will actually scare most players into dropping out without putting a wager.

If you are in the initial seat (1st or second to place a bet), you’ll make a single wager. Anybody with decent cards will call, hopefully a person will raise. If there has been a raise don’t hop to re-raise or call, pause for a small bit – make them think you’re considering your options and then call.

After the flop your plan will be to get rid of anyone that might get a straight or a flush. So I would start to raise aggressively, if you’re fortunate you’ll fool one player into thinking that you’re tricking.

If you’re in the middle or late position (near the last to place a wager) you’ll observe as everyone calls and then raise. Even with you holding a pair of aces, if you can try to avert a show-down. Protect your hand by making the other players drop out after the flop. If you don’t force out your adversaries you risk losing your hand.
