Four of Poker’s Nice Guys

[ English ]

Literally millions and millions of people want to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more well known "charming players" of the game. Although "nice" is connected with their names when you are at a poker table it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have removed you out of the game!

Daniel Negreanu

In 2004, his tournament earnings added up to more than 4.4 million dollars and he came away with two immensely respected awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tournament Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was named Card Player’s Favourite Poker Player. Daniel still has the decency to talk with his fans about how they will be able to advance their own game.

Howard Lederer

Referred to as "The Professor" and sibling of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His accomplishments have lead to him making an instructional video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and co hosting a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of 2005, his complete life earnings surpass $2.7 million.

Scotty Nguyen

Scott is one of the most active players in poker and between 2000 and 2004 he finished in the money in well over 100 events. He is noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker games and also credited with the term "that’s poker baby" when referring to a especially bad defeat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career earnings are just about 6 million dollars.

Chris Ferguson

Chris has captured five World Series of Poker titles with two of his wins coming in Two Thousand and Three. Chris has the nickname "Jesus" due to his characteristic long hair and beard, and is able to throw playing cards fast enough to slice through bananas and pickles. As of 2005 his total live poker tourney earnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
